Album 88 Hero
Concept
The banner is the first thing viewers see when they enter Album 88’s website. It is responsible for developing interest, expressing the radio station's youthful nature, and leaving a lasting first impression. Given the station's emphasis on physical media and music as a voice for culture, I determined that the visual style for the animation should feel in-the-know and analog.
BREAKING THE ANIMATION DOWN:
Album 88’s Vinylthon is a tradition of the 50-year-old station. During the 48-hour music streaming event, they only play physical records. To incorporate this medium into the project, I created a WRAS Zoetrope to be the attention-grabber on the website.
A Zoetrope is a device consisting of a sequence of images arranged in a circle that produces an animation when spun.
