A brand identity system and full-scope advertising campaign for The Atlanta Municipal Market.



Goals
BRIEF
The Atlanta Municipal Market has an important history in Downtown Atlanta. As Atlanta’s first municipal market, AMM was a sanctuary for Black entrepreneurs to start businesses and build a self-sustaining community. In collaboration with AMM, my team was tasked with creating a contemporary refresh of the market’s current branding as well as developing an advertising campaign. The market had 3 main goals in mind:
Increase appeal to young adults and students (e.g., students attending university nearby)
Highlight its history
Emphasize the businesses inside the market and the community it nurtures









Icon system
Outside the market is a ceramic square-grid mural titled A Day at the Market. The mural represents the food, sense of belonging, and opportunity that the Municipal Market brings to the community. I was inspired by the square tiles that make up the grid of the mural. Each piece contains a key component of what makes the market meaningful.
